We use an actively Q Switched nanosecond Nd:Yag Laser Made by Astanza.
What is Nd:Yag? Neodymium-doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet
Try saying that 3 times fast.
That’s the type of crystal inside the machine to make one the wavelengths of laser needed for removal.
Nanosecond is referring to how fast each laser pulse is.
Q Switched lasers have been commonly used for tattoo removal for over 20 years.
Our laser treats at 2 different wavelengths, 1064 nanometers and 532 nanometers.
These wavelengths are effective for treating most colors except light blues and some greens.
You may have seen videos of tattoo removal with a circle treatment area but ours is a square shape for greater accuracy and ability to selectively remove close to other tattoos.
While we have several treatment sizes, most commonly we use our 5mm x 5mm to treat areas as quickly and efficiently as possible.
